Four Dwelling Units : Update

Last night, Council heard feedback from residents both in support and opposition to the proposed 4-unit zoning by-law amendment.

What’s next? City staff will be gathering additional information, including:

  • a report that examines the financial implications if the amendment isn't approved,
  • a report explaining what rental registries are, how they work, and the benefits of the City having one,
  • and a report on the City's current capacity for bylaw enforcement.

The reports will be presented and discussed on March 24 at the next City Council meeting.

The third reading is now April 14 (postponed two weeks to this date for further research). Council will at that point make a final decision on whether to approve or deny the amendment.
