Help shape the future of Island View Park!
The City of Fredericton is gathering community input to help shape the redesign of Island View Park. Area residents are invited to attend a public engagement session to share their ideas and provide feedback on preliminary concepts for the renewal of this neighbourhood park.
At the event, attendees will have an opportunity to review and discuss proposed enhancements, including a neighbourhood-scale splash pad, improved accessibility, inclusive play equipment, and seating designed to serve residents of all ages and abilities.
Join us on Thursday, October 1 and be part of the conversation about the future of Island View Park. We encourage families to attend together to share their ideas about the features and experiences that matter most to them.
Unable to attend in person? Visit Engage Fredericton after October 1 to view the concept designs and provide your feedback online.

Share I have a question regarding the proposed design for the new park in Island View.
Would it be possible to consider designing the rink area in a similar style to the Marysville rink, with permanent or removeable boards and a concrete surface which could be used as a skateboard park in the summer or pickle ball courts when boards are removed.
I feel this type of setup could provide greater year-round value to the community. It would create a more functional and durable space for skating, hockey, community events, and other activities, while also making the rink easier to maintain and more useful for families in the area. on FacebookShare I have a question regarding the proposed design for the new park in Island View.

Thank you for your suggestion! A permanent multi-use rink was considered during the design process; however, priority was given to the splash pad and other park amenities to best meet the broader recreational needs of the community.
Thank you for your contribution!
