Forced to leave the city

I am a young, single, educated, full-time downtown professional. I have lived in Fredericton since 2009, renting a 3 bedroom - 2 bathroom bungalow on the northside with a roommate from May 2018-Oct 2020 when my landlord sold the home and left me searching for a rental in this insane market. I ended up paying 40% more in rent to live in a basement apartment with paper thin walls below 3 children under 10 and a puppy... It didn't take me long to realize that living environment was unsustainable for me. My landlord was also mentioning that he was planning to raise rent even higher than what I was paying to keep up with the current market.

I am priveleged to be able to get a mortgage but not within the budget required to live in city. I had to trade city life and move to the rural NB in the Nackawic school district and commute 30 minutes to Fredericton daily for work.
