Survey: Share Your Thoughts on Single Room Occupancy

The Fredericton Affordable Housing Committee (FAHC) was created by the current Mayor and Council who saw the need to improve access to and availability of affordable housing, and to ensure every Frederictonian has a safe and affordable place to call home. The FAHC is made up of stakeholders, experts, advocates, City Staff, and a Council representative who work together to advocate for those who are housing vulnerable, immigrants, those who require affordable rent, have special housing needs, or are in circumstances of poverty.

Single Room Occupancies provide an efficient and affordable housing option for people seeking independent living with shared amenities. Building on the rooming house model, Single Room Occupancies offer a co-living experience with access to shared facilities such as kitchens, washrooms, and outdoor spaces like yards, decks, and patios with each resident provided independent sleeping quarters.
