Investing in Denser Housing

Idea:

LDH is what is causing housing to be unaffordable. It doesn't help that Fredericton is very low density due to our lack of apartments. We need more condos, townhouses, and apartments. Otherwise Frederictonians will increasingly become homeless.

Thank you for the comment! Densifying residential developments was an important goal of the City’s Growth Strategy and a key priority in the City's new Municipal Plan. Between 2018 and 2021 over 80% of the City’s total residential building permits have been for multi-unit residential developments. We're making progress and will continue to look for opportunities to create denser, complete communities and neighbourhoods.
